Empar Ríos and Maria Pozuelo named Falleras Mayores of Camp de Morvedre for 2026-2027
Sagunto City Hall hosted the official proclamation on Friday of Empar Ríos as Fallera Mayor and Maria Pozuelo as Fallera Mayor Infantil of the Federació Junta Fallera de Sagunt (FJFS) for the 2026-2027 fallas season.
The first deputy mayor, María José Carrera, officially proclaimed the new representatives of the fallas festival tradition in the Camp de Morvedre comarca at a ceremony held in the council chamber of Sagunto City Hall. FJFS secretary general Juan José Monge presided over the event, with FJFS president Aitor Muñoz also speaking. Those in attendance included culture councillor Patricia Sánchez, the mayor of Gilet, Salvador Costa, and the outgoing falleras, Ana Martínez and Noa Barea. The Falla El Palleter commission, from which Empar Ríos hails, won first prize in the children's falla category at this year's FJFS competition. The protocol establishes two distinct ceremonies: the solemn Exaltació takes place at the Roman Theatre (Teatro Romano), while the official proclamation is conducted at the city hall — a tradition maintained in both this year's ceremony and the previous one.
