Adama Sangare leaves Atlético Saguntino after finishing as top scorer
The 26-year-old Malian striker, who scored 10 goals in 27 matches, will not return next season after a campaign in which Saguntino came close to promotion.
Adama Sangare has ended his spell at Atlético Saguntino (Sagunto's football club, founded in 1922) after emerging as the team's main attacking threat. He joined in the summer of 2025 from CD Soneja — where he had already helped the club gain promotion and win the Copa Nostra regional trophy — and contributed 10 goals in 1,890 minutes under coach Guillem Beltrán at the Nou Camp de Morvedre stadium (2,000 capacity).
The club had its best recent season, finishing second in Group VI of Tercera Federación — the fifth tier of Spanish football — and reaching the promotion play-off for Segunda Federación, where they were knocked out by CF La Nucía. In Tercera Federación only the group winner earns direct promotion; second-to-fifth-placed sides must go through the play-offs for the remaining spots.
Sangare thanked the club, supporters and local families in his farewell message. His departure leaves the Saguntino coaching staff searching for a new striker before the next campaign begins, according to Golsmedia.
