CB Puerto Sagunto beaten by Prat but plays again on 31 May for promotion
CB Puerto Sagunto (basketball club, Puerto de Sagunto) lost to CB Prat in a hard-fought match on 30 May and could not yet clinch promotion, but will have another chance on Sunday at 17:00.
CB Puerto Sagunto fell short of sealing promotion on Saturday after a closely contested defeat against CB Prat in the Tercera FEB promotion playoff finals. The club acknowledged the result gracefully, congratulated CB Prat on the win and sent an upbeat message to supporters: the fight for promotion is not over.
The Tercera FEB 2025-26 promotion playoff finals bring together 16 clubs across venues in Badajoz and Alginet, with six promotion places up for grabs to Segunda FEB (the third tier of Spanish basketball); both CB Puerto Sagunto and CB Prat had already secured direct berths in this final phase. Saturday's opponents, Club Bàsquet Prat from El Prat de Llobregat (near Barcelona), were founded in 1951 and have been a historic affiliate of Club Joventut de Badalona since 2004.
On Sunday 31 May, CB Puerto Sagunto will take to the court again at 17:00 — opponents yet to be confirmed — with the same determination and the backing of fans at the arena and at home. According to the club's social media.
