Two Sagunto students win top Fem Futur prize with AI-powered parking app
Javier Martín and Eloy de Castro, students at IES Camp de Morvedre secondary school in Sagunto, have taken first prize at the tenth edition of the Premios Fem Futur entrepreneurship awards with an AI parking app.
Sagunto City Hall officially received the two award-winning students after their victory at the Premios Fem Futur (Fem Futur Awards — a youth entrepreneurship competition for vocational training students) held on 7 May in Gandía. The competition, organised by SECOT (Seniors Españoles para la Cooperación Técnica — a senior volunteer mentoring association) with backing from Caixa Popular and the Valencian Government's vocational training and economy departments, attracted 44 projects from across the region; eight reached the final. Mentored by teacher Pau Lluch, Javier and Eloy developed Mova Park, an AI application designed to help drivers find parking spaces and manage available space more efficiently. Mayor Darío Moreno noted that the project aligns with three of Sagunto's strategic priorities — sustainability, digitalisation and mobility — at a time when the city is positioning itself as a technology hub around the incoming PowerCo battery factory. Education Councillor Raúl Palmero praised the project's innovative character and future potential. According to Sagunto City Hall, this is the first time local students have won the top Fem Futur prize.
