Circo Raluy Legacy extends its stay in Port de Sagunt until 27 September
'CYBORG', a show that mixes traditional circus with a futuristic look, will run two extra weeks in Port de Sagunt after a strong response from audiences during the first performances.
Circo Raluy Legacy is extending its stay in Port de Sagunt until Sunday 27 September, two weeks beyond what had originally been set out in the calendar for its tour of the Valencian Community. The big top, raised next to the Alucine cinemas, will remain standing longer than scheduled after audiences responded strongly during the first weeks of performances of 'CYBORG', the show the company is currently touring with.
Louisa Raluy, co-director of the company, has said that staying longer in Valencian territory fills the whole team with satisfaction, and has highlighted the extraordinary welcome the audience of Puerto de Sagunto (coastal district) has given them once again. Thanks to this extension, anyone who has not yet managed to see the show now has a new window of opportunity: they will be able to do so at any of the performances scheduled through to the end of the month.
'CYBORG' offers a journey between the classic roots of circus and a staging that looks toward technology and what is to come, mixing a variety of circus disciplines with choreography and costumes designed specifically for the production. Kerry Raluy, also co-director, describes the show as a bold and boundary-pushing undertaking, built on the clash between technological progress and human values, and conceived to connect with both adult and younger audiences alike.
The company's name — Raluy Legacy — carries a past worth clarifying, since it is often confused with that of other circus troupes from the same family line. The Circo Raluy that had existed until then closed that chapter in May 2016, and out of that split came two separate family projects: on one side, Raluy Legacy, the company now touring Port de Sagunt; on the other, Circo Histórico Raluy, which continues along its own path within the same family tradition. It is not, therefore, the same big top under a new name, but two separate branches of a single circus family tree.
Raluy Legacy's recent track record also includes a notable recognition within the industry: in 2023 the company earned the Big Top Label, a distinction that assesses the quality and conditions of circus tents and shows, becoming the first Spanish company to achieve it. That precedent backs up the quality the company itself claims for its work, and turns the run in Port de Sagunt into one of the first opportunities in the country to see up close a production certified with that seal.
The company has specifically wanted to thank Sagunto City Council for its support in allowing it to settle in the municipality, as well as the good disposition shown by the management of the Alucine cinemas, next to which the big top remains set up for the whole of its stay. Sharing space with an already well-established leisure venue makes it easier for audiences to combine their visit to the circus with other plans in the same area of Port de Sagunt.
The extension also places the final stretch of 'CYBORG' performances very close to the Moros y Cristianos patron saint festivities (a traditional reenactment festival) that Sagunto holds in late September, dates on which the municipality concentrates much of its festive activity and on which family leisure options tend to grow across both parts of the town.
With the extension now confirmed, 'CYBORG' will remain on the bill at the Port de Sagunt site until 27 September, adding two more weeks of performances for an audience that, according to the company itself, has responded beyond what was expected since the tour of the Valencian Community began. The company has not revealed whether, after leaving Sagunto, it will add new stops in other Valencian municipalities, although its touring schedule is usually confirmed only a few weeks ahead at each stop.
