Sagunto launches 'Més que idees 2027' to support young artists
Sagunto's Youth and Childhood Department has opened the 'Més que idees 2027' call, aimed at young people aged 12 to 30 with cultural and artistic proposals, with a deadline of 30 October.
The call, named 'Més que idees 2027' ('More than ideas'), aims to give an outlet to the creative ideas of young people aged 12 to 30 registered in the municipality, who can apply individually or as a group, with projects ranging from amateur efforts to more professional proposals. The deadline for submissions runs until 30 October and covers a wide range of disciplines: music, dance, design, urban art, theatre and performing arts, multimedia content creation, social media management and podcasts, among other creative fields.
The programme has two complementary support strands. The first, 'Incubadora creativa' (creative incubator), is designed for those starting a project from scratch: it offers rehearsal or recording spaces, technical advice and support in launching the idea, whether a music recording, a podcast or a stage production. The second strand, 'Mostrart al Casal' (showcase at the youth centre), targets those who already have work in progress and want to present it: it includes performances, meetings, exhibitions, use of spaces, inclusion in the programme of the casals joves (municipal youth centres) and technical support for concerts, book presentations, urban art or open-mic events.
Both brand-new proposals and the presentation of ongoing projects are welcome, and the call requires no prior experience or professional track record. The department also plans to expand support to exhibition projects: in the coming months it will launch a specific call covering all municipal exhibition halls, complementing the current offer.
Applicants should send their proposal by email to [email protected], along with the registration form and the documentation detailed in the rules, available on the website saguntjove.es of the Youth and Childhood Department.
The initiative is part of the municipality's drive to boost cultural creation among Sagunto's young population by providing the resources that are often the main barrier to launching an artistic project: physical space, technical advice and visibility. By combining support for production with support for outreach, the city council aims to cover the whole process, from the first idea to its public presentation at the town's youth centres.
