Sagunto to install three giant screens for Spain's World Cup semi-final
Sagunto City Council will install up to three giant screens in the city and in Puerto de Sagunto so residents can watch Spain's World Cup semi-final together.
The Tourism Department is organising the initiative together with the fan-club federations (peñas) of Sagunto and Puerto de Sagunto, which will coordinate the viewing points for the match. The tournament's semi-finals are scheduled for 14 and 15 July, with the final on 19 July at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey (United States), according to the competition's official calendar. This is the first World Cup jointly hosted by three countries, the United States, Mexico and Canada, and the first played with 48 teams instead of 32, the biggest format change since 1998. It is not the first time the council has used this approach: in 2024 it already installed two screens for the Euro final. The council has not yet confirmed the exact locations or match times.
