Sagunto City Council presented the prizes of the III Trobada Educativa Ciutat de Sagunt on 10 June, with eight schools recognised and one student singled out for outstanding personal achievement.

The standout individual recognition went to Àlex Gasch Rougon from IES Clot del Moro secondary school, the sole pupil to receive the Outstanding Student by Personal Merit award. Eight school projects across the remaining categories completed the roll of winners.

The Distinguished Teaching Career prizes went to Cristina Marqués of CEIP Maestro Tarrazona primary school and Alejandro Piera of CEIP Ausiàs March. Best Valencian Language Practices and Preventing Absenteeism both went to CEIP Ausiàs March, while the Innovative Project award recognised IES Camp de Morvedre and CC San Vicente Ferrer. Three schools — CEIP Victoria y Joaquín Rodrigo, IES Clot del Moro and IES Camp de Morvedre — shared the Improving Coexistence prize.

Mayor Darío Moreno chaired the ceremony at the Mario Monreal Cultural Centre alongside Education Councillor Raúl Palmero, arguing that education is the best investment any society can make. The event spans six award categories covering innovation, coexistence, attendance, teaching careers, Valencian language promotion and student merit.
