Sagunto honours teachers and pupils at the III Trobada Educativa
Sagunto City Council held the third edition of the Trobada Educativa Ciutat de Sagunt on 10 June, an annual awards ceremony recognising outstanding educational projects, teachers and schools.
The ceremony took place at the Mario Monreal hall at 7:00 pm and brought together the local education community to celebrate work that makes a real difference in classrooms. Among those honoured were teachers Alejandro Piera and Cristina Marqués, alongside five schools: Ausiàs March, Victoria y Joaquín Rodrigo, Clot del Moro, Camp de Morvedre and Sant Vicent Ferrer.
One of the most moving moments involved a pupil named Àlex, whose visual impairment has not stopped him from developing a love of music — a reminder of education's power to change lives.
The event, organised by Sagunto City Council, recognises innovative teaching projects, long-term teaching careers and efforts to promote the Valencian language each year. According to elperiodic.com, the ceremony has become an established showcase for the local education system's commitment and dedication.
