A-7 crash in Sagunto: firefighters free two people trapped in a car
Provincial Consortium firefighters freed two people trapped in a car on the A-7 at Sagunto on Tuesday 13 October and handed them to medical services.
The Valencia Provincial Fire Service Consortium received the alert for an accident on the A-7 at Sagunto at 10:52 on Tuesday 13 October. Firefighters from Sagunto and La Pobla de Farnals attended, along with a sergeant from Sagunto. They cut free two people trapped in a car and handed them to the medical services. The sources have not reported their condition or the cause of the crash.
The same Tuesday, elperiodic.com reported a collision between a car and a truck on the A-7 near Sagunto that left several people injured. According to that report, Sanitat (the Valencian health department) mobilised a unit to attend the incident. Day and place match, but neither source says it is the same accident, so they cannot be treated as one.
The press uses both A-7 and AP-7 for the same road on this stretch. According to Wikipedia, on the sections signed as motorway the route of the A-7 coincides with that of the AP-7 on its toll-free sections. The A-7 is Spain's longest dual carriageway: it links Algeciras with Barcelona (Abrera) and is the Spanish section of European route E-15.
It is not the first such episode in the area. According to officialpress.es, in October 2024 an accident at kilometre 307 of the A-7, in the Gausa area, involving four trucks and one slightly injured person, forced the closure of the road towards Alicante and diversion of traffic via the V-21 and CV-32. And on 4 March 2026, as elperiodic.com reported, a collision between a car and a truck on the AP-7 at Sagunto, with the alert to the emergency coordination centre (CICU) at 4:10, left a 49-year-old man injured and taken to the Hospital Clínico; the outlet described it as the third crash on that road within a few hours.
