Sagunto City Council has presented its 2026 beach safety and cleaning operation: 55 lifeguards, 11 local police officers, 23 cleaning staff and 19 sea and land vehicles, plus a rescue drone.

From 2 July, Sagunto's beaches are running their most comprehensive summer operation on record. The lifeguard service covers four fixed stations — Puerto de Sagunto (coastal district), Almardà, Corinto and Malvarrosa — with extended hours from 10:00 to 21:00 until 16 August, backed by nine watchtowers, two doctor-staffed ambulances and a combined fleet of 19 vehicles. The technological highlight is a rescue drone operated by Salvare, the first of its kind in the comarca (district). The beach police unit adds 11 officers until 6 September, while company SAG supplies 23 cleaners with specialist coastal machinery. All four beaches retain their Blue Flag for 2026 — the Foundation for Environmental Education's annual award for water quality and environmental management; Spain leads the world with 794 Blue Flags and the Valencian Community tops the national ranking with 164. Extra cover is planned for 15 August, the main day of Puerto de Sagunto's patron saint celebrations, according to Sagunto City Council.
